Local processing
Camera images, star measurements, calibration and live guidance are processed on the Mac. Alignment itself does not require a network connection.
Local preferences
Interface language, celestial hemisphere, camera settings and reusable calibration are stored locally on the Mac.
Website preferences
The website stores only your language choice in local storage. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies.
Mac App Store edition
The Mac App Store app has no PolarShift account, activation service, network access or telemetry. Purchases, reinstallations and updates are handled by Apple.
Purchase and payment
Apple handles Mac App Store purchases and payments. PolarShift receives no payment card data.
Files
Reusable calibration is saved locally automatically. You can also manually import or export calibration archives, recordings and reports.
Camera data stays local
PolarShift does not transmit camera images, star measurements, location or diagnostics.
